Role Title: Head of Marketing

Location: NYC / hybrid (in office at least 3 days a week)

Type: Full-time

Reports to: Co-Founders (Sam Parr & Joe Speiser)

Compensation: $250K base + % bonus ($450K+ uncapped)

Why This Role Exists

Hampton is a community for founders running $3M to $50M+ businesses. Marketing today runs on a mix of fractional leaders, part-time contractors, and one of the co-founders making content. The patchwork has worked up till now, but it won’t work for the next phase.

We need one person who owns marketing end to end. Strategy, paid ads, creative direction, email, community storytelling. The whole funnel from a founder seeing Sam’s video to paying for membership.

What You’ll Own

Key Success Metrics:

  • Leads and Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs)
  • Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs)
  • Opportunities (Meetings Booked)
  • Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
  • Attribution Accuracy

Strategy: Quarterly marketing plan across paid, organic, email, referral, events, and content.

Creative direction: You direct the creative output of Hampton alongside Sam. Sam’s video content cadence, ad concepts, landing page messaging, newsletter voice. You don’t need to shoot the videos. You need to know which of the 10 videos Sam filmed is the one worth putting ad spend behind.

Paid media: You have a point of view on every campaign we run. Meta, LinkedIn, Google, X and podcast ads. You’re not the button clicker (that’s the ops hire). But you set strategy and read reports like an operator.

Email & lifecycle: Two newsletters (member and public) plus every nurture and re-engagement flow.

Department leadership: Direct reports include the Ops & Paid Media Manager, a coordinator, and close partnership with tech/RevOps and the content creators. Lead routing, lead scoring, attribution, and SLAs between marketing and sales.

What You’ve Done Before

  • Led marketing for a founder-led brand, creator economy company, community business, or premium subscription business (B2B or B2C). Not a generic enterprise SaaS background.
  • Run paid budgets of six figures/month and can defend the channel mix with accurate metrics and attribution.
  • Shipped at least one thing (a newsletter, a campaign, a positioning) that you can point to and say “that moved the business.”
  • Worked closely with a founder who is also the face of the brand. You know the rhythm of that relationship.
  • Managed at least 3 direct reports.

Must Haves

  • Executive presence. You can walk into L10 with Sam, Joe, and the leadership team and talk clearly about what you’re doing, why, and what’s next.
  • Creative taste. Given three ad concepts, you can tell us which one wins and why, in a way that applies beyond “I think this is better.”
  • Copywriting and Storytelling. You’ll learn our brand messaging and learn to write the same way. We use AI for a lot of things, but we never put out AI slop.
  • Systems literacy. HubSpot, Make, Clay, Instantly, attribution tools, Google Sheets.
  • Manager muscle. You’ve fired someone. You’ve given hard feedback. You’ve picked between two good candidates. You’ll do all three here in your first 90 days.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with peer community businesses (YPO, EO, Vistage, Chief, Pavilion, or adjacent).
  • Podcast or creator economy background.
  • You’ve built an inbound machine off a founder’s personal brand before.
